A small toolkit for Indian roster and appraisal weeks

Night Shift Calculator is an independent project by Ramesh Choudhary. It is not a payroll company, not an HRMS, and not a chartered-accountancy practice. The aim is simple: when a night roster or a hike letter lands, you should be able to sanity-check rupees in a few minutes without creating an account or uploading CTC.

What you can do here

The homepage is a four-tab calculator: night-shift allowance (percentage of daily CTC or a fixed rupee slab), appraisal hike versus a CPI-style inflation placeholder, new-versus-old tax regime in-hand (illustrative FY 2026–27 style math), and a month log that totals on the Indian financial year (April–March). A separate hours calculator counts a shift that crosses midnight and an optional night differential you type yourself. Beside the tools are original guides for software roles: how allowance is usually estimated, whether a 12% hike is “market-range,” and how new and old regimes fork. Worked examples show the arithmetic in tables so you can follow it without running the script.

What this is not

Results will not match every payslip. Companies hide allowance inside CTC, round attendance, skip weekends, or tax the component differently. Tax output omits HRA, NPS extra, and full surcharge detail. Treat every number as order-of-magnitude, then confirm with HR, your offer letter, or a qualified tax professional before you sign or file.

How the site stays online

Optional ads and a small paid tracker pack help cover the time to keep the guides current. A Buy Me a Coffee link is voluntary. Those services do not receive your calculator inputs from this site.
