Four tools on this phone. No account. Your CTC stays here.
Uses a common 25% of daily CTC model, or your company’s fixed rupees per night.
Clock-in to clock-out, including a shift that crosses midnight, plus optional shift pay.
What “market-range” means, inflation, and notes to send before you sign.
Which path keeps more in-hand — then compare with your CTC.
₹8L, ₹12L, ₹18L and a fixed ₹ slab — arithmetic you can check on paper.
Four tabs, try a sample, 60-second tour — first result without an account.
Software % model vs fixed rupees per night — then run your own numbers.
Daily CTC = annual CTC ÷ working days (default 240). Allowance per night ≈ 25% of daily CTC — a common software-company range is 20–30%. Or enter the fixed rupees your company pays.

Often no — and that is expected. Policies differ (fixed slab, attendance, weekends). Use this to sanity-check, then confirm with HR.
In many software cycles 10–20% is typical, so 12% is market-range on CTC. Always check real hike after inflation and in-hand under the new regime.
Compare both on the In-hand tab. New regime often wins with few deductions; old can win with large 80C/HRA. Not a filing.
Open How to use or the 60-second tour. Try a sample to see a result without saving. Four tabs: Nights, Hike, In-hand, Log. The answer shows on the right (below the form on a phone).
Use the hours calculator. 22:00 to 06:00 is 8 hours. If the end clock time is earlier than the start, the hours after midnight are included. The same start and end is 0 hours, not 24.
No single nationwide percentage. Companies often pay a slice of daily CTC or a fixed rupee amount. Type the rate from your letter. This site does not invent a statutory rate.
A night shift allowance calculator answers “what does a month of nights pay?” A night shift hours calculator answers “how long was this roster?” They are different questions. If you have a start time and an end time, including a shift that runs past midnight, use the hours and differential calculator. 22:00 to 06:00 is 8 hours. 20:00 to 05:00 is 9 hours, of which 7 sit inside a 22:00–06:00 night window and 2 do not. Break minutes are spread across the shift, because the form does not ask when you took the break.
Shift pay is those hours times an hourly wage, plus a night differential only if you type one. There is no single India-wide statutory percentage to drop in. Many software teams instead pay a slice of daily CTC or a fixed rupee amount per night — that is the Nights tab on this page, and the allowance guide. State hours rules and overtime are separate from that premium. The letter and the payslip win.
Software rosters rarely print the working behind night-shift allowance. Appraisal letters quote CTC, not in-hand. This toolkit is a public set of calculators plus original guides so you can sanity-check a month of nights, a hike %, and a simplified new-versus-old tax fork without creating an account.
Calculations run in your browser. Optional Remember stays on that phone. Ads and analytics may use cookies — see the privacy policy.
Numbers are illustrative. Company policy, the payslip, and the Income Tax Department override this site. Do not treat a result as HR, career, or tax advice.
